grounded's Diaryland Diary

Today I bought meatless corndogs, sausage, chicken nuggets and buffalo wings. And a $13 bottle of wine.

I don't know what to think about all these meatless meat products I keep buying. I keep buying them, so, I like them, so, they are good. But it seems like an alcoholic drinking alcohol-free beer. Or, and I said this the other night surrounded by co-workers and they thought it was the funniest thing they'd ever heard, fake meatless hotdogs are like a peewee herman impersonator. It sucks to begin with, so why impersonate it? I guess it boils down to the fact that there are all these things people eat in our culture, that I'm used to. hamburgers, hotdogs, spaghetti with meat sauce, sausage, chicken.. and I can eat all this stuff to skip meat, but not skip familiar forms of food.

but fuck it! I should eat more filafel and tofu. pure vegetarian food, without all this kind of whiny meat worshipping crap.

and the $13 bottle is a little treat because I had a good merlot by the same company, so I trust them, and I had a good non-related cabernet sauvignon the other night, so I trust the kind, and todd plesco told me that 1999 cabernet sauvignons are good, so I trust the year. So, I trust it all around, and want to branch out beyond the $6 and $7 wines I've been buying.
